Ambassador Julianne Smith

Keynotes
U.S. Permanent Representative to NATO,
Ambassador Julianne Smith assumed her position as the U.S. Permanent Representative to NATO in November 2021.

Prior to her current position, she served as a Senior Advisor to Secretary Blinken at the Department of State. Previously, she served as the Director of the Asia and Geopolitics Programs at the German Marshall Fund of the United States. From 2014 – 2018, she served as the Director of the Transatlantic Security Program at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS). From 2012-2013, she served as the Acting National Security Advisor and Deputy National Security Advisor to the Vice President of the United States.

Before her post at the White House, she served for three years as the Principal Director for European and NATO Policy in the Office of the Secretary of Defense in the Pentagon. In January 2012, she was awarded the Office of the Secretary of Defense Medal for Exceptional Public Service.

Prior to her government service, Ambassador Smith held a variety of positions at research institutions including the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), the German Marshall Fund, the American Academy in Berlin, and the Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik in Berlin. She has written extensively on transatlantic relations and European security.

Ambassador Smith is a recipient of the Richard von Weizsäcker Fellowship at the Bosch Academy in Berlin and the Fredin Memorial Scholarship for study at the Sorbonne in Paris. A native of Michigan, she received her B.A. from Xavier University and her M.A. from American University. She spent a year learning German at the University of Munich. In 2017, she received the Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.

General (RET) Tom Middendorp

Chairman, International Military Council on Climate and Security (IMCCS)
General (RET) Tom Middendorp was The Netherlands Chief of Defense for five and a half years and spent 38 years serving his country. He commanded soldiers on all levels, led a large multinational taskforce in the south of Afghanistan and was involved in over twenty different military missions as the Director of Operations. In his work he experienced how climate change is already acting as a risk multiplier. To him it is clear that climate change is also a matter of national security and that the security sector has a role to play when it comes to mitigation and adaptation efforts.

When he retired Tom Middendorp established – and was appointed as the Chairman of - the International Military Council on Climate and Security (IMCCS); a global network of security experts and research institutes from over 40 countries. In 2022 he published his first book on Climate and Security that he dedicated to his children. In 2023 this book was also published in French and English versions and in 2024 it will be filmed in a documentary.

He joined The Clingendael Institute as a Senior Visiting Fellow and is attached to The Hague Center for Strategic Studies as a Strategic Security Expert. He is also the Netherlands’ Special Envoy on European Defence Cooperation. Tom supports several start-up innovations on the area of climate change and is a well-known guest speaker at summits and meetings.

Judy has been in the security industry for 20 years. She is currently Chief Growth Officer for Earnflex Ltd, a technology company providing fully compliant workers and the technology to be able to provide 24/7 compliance checks to end users.
Starting out in Reliance Security which gave her a grounding in all services from guarding to tech.She is passionate about delivering intelligent technology-driven solutions that challenge the status quo and give her clients a competitive edge whilst working with security guarding where training is a key element. She is also a big advocate for raising the profile for all who work in security and making the industry more diverse and inclusive whilst encouraging the Next Gen to join.

She is also on the board for the Women’s Security Society, the Advisory Board for IFPO, the Prevent VAWG Steering Group, is a White Ribbon Champion and Co Founder of Running On Empty - an initiative to help our frontline security personnel take up running to improve their mental fitness.

She strongly believes that if security is more diverse and we challenge delivery we can assist with the causes that are important and therefore, make security, in whatever sector it is, be a career of choice for all.

Miglė Širvydaitė

Having a mixed background in Event and Business Management, Miglė is currently focused on business, scaling up one of the leading physical security e-learning providers in the industry – SAME Solutions, serving Global 500 customers throughout the world.
Joining early-stage start-up as the fifth employee in 2019, she has scaled up the company’s operational processes and has since taken over the Chief Operating Officer role at SAME Solutions, where she’s overseeing the company’s strategic growth, focusing on operational excellence, team culture, business support, and innovation.

In addition to her current role, Migle stays involved in various industry initiatives, by being selected for a special ‘Thirty under 30’ scholarship program at Learning Technologies London 2022, which aims to provide support, visibility, voice, and development for the next generation of Learning Leaders.

Inge Huijbrechts

Inge Huijbrechts is Global Senior Vice President Sustainability, Security and Corporate Communications for Radisson Hotel Group(RHG)–developing the Sustainability and Safety & Security programs in the group’s 1,100+hotels in operations & development in 110countries around the world.

Together with her team, she lays out the strategy for Responsible Business from build to operations and keeps employees around the world engaged in everyday Responsible Business actions. Additionally, she leads the global expert Safety & Security team to ensure all is done to welcome guests in safe and secure hotels:

In May 2020, RHG launched the Radisson Hotels Safety Protocol, a program of in-depth cleanliness, disinfection, and prevention procedures developed in partnership with SGS. She developed unique value propositions such as Radisson Meetings worldwide being100% carbon neutral and put the company on a trajectory to be Net Zero by 2050.

In April2022, she was one of the key leaders involved in the definition and launch of the Hotel Sustainability Basics, an initiative to set a common, clear and transparent definition of hotel sustainability to drive responsible travel & tourism. The new standard is defined by the industry for the industry and is supported by the World Travel & Tourism Council and a group of leading hotels groups and associations representing over 50,000 hotels.

Inge is a member of the ASIS Chief Security Officer Center for Leadership and Development and chair of the US State Department’s OSAC Hotel & Lodging Sector Committee. She is a member of the Sustainable Hospitality Alliance Senior Advisory Board and sits on the GRI Club Sustainability Committee. Inge also serves on the board of Flanders Special Venues.

In 2022, Inge was named one of the100 Most powerful people in Global Hospitality and in the global Top 100 Women in Sustainability.

Gavin Henderson

Gavin has been part of Mastercard Security team for almost a decade when he started in 2012 as a Security Analyst. In December 2019, he took on the role CSO of the International Markets after serving as Regional Security Officer for Europe for 4 years, during which, Gavin and his team spearheaded a successful Regional convergence of a team of Information and Physical Security Specialists to double efforts around Cybersecurity in order to bring the Mastercard Corporate Security assets closer to Internal Stakeholders and External Customers. Gavin has also built up strong partnerships and bridges with International law enforcement agencies and Central Banks and has served as Co-Chair of the Irish OSAC Chapter and is a member of the European Institute of Corporate Security Management. In 2018, Gavin obtained an Executive MBA from the Ulster University International Business School and is he passionate about Teams and Authentic Leadership.

Craig Morton

Head of Physical Security, Airbus
As Airbus’ Head of Physical Security, Craig Morton is responsible for the physical protection of over 65,000 employees, hundreds of aircraft and numerous sites worldwide including major manufacturing sites in France, Germany, Spain, UK, China, USA and Canada.

In addition he manages a team of 180 security experts world-wide and a portfolio of over 0.5BN€ in contracts covering security, fire & emergency response, guarding and intervention needs, as well as their associated systems and service.

As well as bringing digital innovation to the management of physical security operations, he created Airbus’ Corporate Critical Travel Watchtower and its Enterprise Crisis Management organisation. He found solutions to directly address the corporation’s “duty of care” obligations and to manage the most critical worldwide incidents impacting staff and operations around the globe.

He also has a proven track record in IT and digital domains, data governance, supplier management, regulatory compliance & operational responsibility across security, defense, export control and trade sanctions.

Hailing originally from Scotland, Morton is an autodidact in productive time management. When not in the office or with his family, he can be found on one of his epic 200+ kms cycling trips around his adopted country of France, often in the Pyrenees mountains, and often going uphill.

Vonda Greene

Head of Physical Security, Airbus Americas
Vonda Greene likes a good challenge. Like when she joined the US Marine Corps at 18. Or started working in construction and managed a 50 million dollar project completing the project 8 months early and 11 million dollars under budget. Or when she applied her security and facility management background to building several sites from the ground up while integrating the latest security technology in the corporate ecosystem.

Now the Head of Physical Security for Airbus Americas, she is responsible for the security staff of combined internal employees and external contractors of 150 plus on 20 sites across the US. During her 20 years in the company she has implemented and overseen their cross-national
security programs and works with federal, state, and local authorities to implement standards and deploy security policies. During her tenure she has taken Airbus in the US from keys and paper badges to a globally integrated physical access and video surveillance system.

Protecting others has always been a driving force for Vonda. She prides herself on finding and introducing new technologies to streamline security operations and protecting the company’s assets, employees and installations. She is dedicated to protecting employees from workplace violence and one of the programs she has implemented and maintained is the self defense training conducted on all US sites. She is also a former OSHA compliance manager and maintains a role as Export Control Liaison.

Jean Nicolas Gauthier

Regional Security Officer (RSO) for Europe, Central Asia and Israel (EUC) , Siemens
Jean Nicolas Gauthier is the Siemens AG Regional Security Officer (RSO) for Europe, Central Asia and Israel (EUC) since January 2022. He is based in Vienna (Austria).

The former helicopter pilot in the Fleet Air Arm and ship’s commanding officer in the French Navy, Rear Admiral (Rtd) Jean Nicolas Gauthier is a chartered naval engineer, with a degree in aeronautics. He has got a strong operational, international, academic and team leading experience, managing multidisciplinary, military and civil, national or international teams during different appointments in France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy and Belgium.

After his full career in the Navy, he joined Siemens France in 2017 as their Security, Safety, Health and Environment officer, which gave him an excellent insight of the current rapid transformation of the industrial landscape, and the booming world of technological innovation.

From 2018 to 2021 he was Regional Security Officer for Western Europe and the Maghreb, based in the UK.

Since beginning of 2022 in Austria, he sees his RSO responsibilities as a business enabler, actively contributing to the protection of the Siemens people and assets. He is committed to support the Regional, Operational and Strategic Companies in planning and implementing their preventive security measures for critical projects, in building a resilient business continuity management system, and in training for/managing crises. He is currently supporting the business in two war zones (Ukraine and Israel).

He has been providing solutions and projects in diamond mining, public events, industrial environments, and food industry.

General Sir Richard Shirreff

Strategic Advisor – Security, The Healix Risk and Security Advisory Board and Former UK Military & NATO Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe
Sir Richard Shirreff was born in Kenya in 1955 where he spent his early years. Educated in England, he graduated from Exeter College, Oxford (Modern History) before being commissioned into the British Army from Sandhurst. In his 37-year career, he commanded soldiers on operations at every level from platoon to division. This has included combat in the Gulf War of 1991 as a tank squadron leader and again in Iraq as a divisional commander, together with other operations in Northern Ireland, Kosovo and Bosnia. In addition, he had extensive staff experience at brigade, Army HQ and in the Ministry of Defence. He commanded NATO’s Allied Rapid Reaction Corps and his final military assignment was NATO’s 4 Star Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe (DSACEUR). In February 2016 he co-founded Strategia Worldwide Ltd, a global risk advisory company, which has since built up a sizeable portfolio of clients across different sectors. He joined Healix’s Risk and Security Advisory Board in March 2024.
In 2016 his novel ‘2017: War with Russia’ was published in the UK, USA and Poland. It became a best seller and has been translated into eight languages. He is an honorary fellow of Exeter College, Oxford.

Aisling Regan

Aisling has a combined experience of over 20 years in the security and intelligence fields. Spending her early career years as a commissioned officer in the Irish Defence Forces, she moved to the corporate sector in 2017, taking up a role at Stripe in Dublin working on Threat and Protective Operations. Keen to develop and learn more core physical security skills, Aisling took the opportunity to join Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) business where she remained for over two years. In early 2022, Aisling rejoined Stripe and assumed the role of Threat & Protective Intelligence Lead within the Corporate Security Team. She is currently building out Threat & Workplace Violence mitigation, Protective Intelligence and Geopolitical Intelligence programs simultaneously. She is passionate about creating and demonstrating the value of intelligence-led security programs.

Aisling has attained a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, a Masters degree in International Relations and was awarded an MPhil in War Studies. Aisling is also the holder of an ASIS CPP, and was a panelist at ASIS GSX 2021.

Mohammed Basleem

Mohammed Basleem is a Senior Information Security Analyst at Aramco with 10 years of experience helping security operations with cybersecurity risks. Specializing in risk management & Implementation of international cybersecurity standers and frameworks, Mohammed uses that experience to Maintain cybersecurity status of security operations, ensuring all risks are minimized and monitored.

Mohammed has capitalized on their Computer Science degree from King Faisal university and professional information security certifications (such as CRISC, GSEC and ISO 27001 lead Auditor) to combat the latest technological risks on industrial security.

Over the years, his contribution at Security Operations Department has garnered recognition through different operational excellence programs in data protection section and being recognized by Aramco Chief Information Security Officer for being within the tops of president cyber security excellence award . Mohammed may spend their days at his office in Dhahran, but it’s the managing cybersecurity risks over security operations that gets them up in the morning.

When they’re not at Aramco, Mohammed is avid being with his Family and loves spending time discovering new techs.

Rishi Lodhia

As Managing Director of Eagle Eye Networks Europe/Middle East/Africa/India (EMEAI) operations, Rishi Lodhia fosters growth of Eagle Eye Networks across a large part of the world. Lodhia is a strong believer in creating a fast-paced organizational culture where people are empowered to get the most out of themselves and the business. Prior to this role, Rishi disrupted the industry when he co-founded and served as CEO of CameraManager, one of the world’s first cloud-based video surveillance platforms. In 2013 CameraManager was acquired by Panasonic, where, as CEO of Panasonic Cloud Management Service Europe, he launched NuboCam, the world’s first 4G/LTE video surveillance camera. CameraManager was then acquired by Eagle Eye Networks in 2017.

Dr. Florian Matusek

Florian Matusek is the Product Group Director responsible for Video Analytics and the Managing Director of the Vienna office for Genetec. He holds a master’s degree in Computer Graphics and Digital Image Processing from the Vienna University of Technology, as well as a PhD in Information Processing Science from the University of Oulu, Finland, for his research on privacy protection in video surveillance. He hosts a regular YouTube series, Video Analytics 101, about video analytics in the security industry with topics such as machine learning, privacy, and forensic search, as well as the tech behind it.

Noah Price

Noah Price is a dynamic leader in the world of international security with an illustrious military background. As a retired Army Major, Noah has served in pivotal roles including infantry officer in the prestigious Brigade of Gurkhas and helicopter pilot with the Army Air Corps. His versatile skills and exemplary service record laid the foundation for a transition into the private sector.

Joining G4S in 2007 as Operations Director for a specialised business unit, Noah made significant contributions to national security by delivering enhanced guarding services to critical infrastructure. A highlight of his tenure at G4S was leading the successful bid for the security contract for Hinkley Point C, the UK's first nuclear new build in over 20 years. The contract focuses on output and effects over the duration of the nuclear build, setting a new standard for the industry.

In July 2022, Noah took up the mantle as International Academy Director for G4S. Under his leadership, the Academy serves as a nexus for global expertise, offering an international network of specialists that support G4S colleagues in delivering integrated, risk-based security solutions. Noah's innovative approach is evident in the Academy's role as a value-added partner for G4S customers, ensuring alignment with the company's mission to be the world's most trusted services partner.

Academically, Noah holds a Foundation Degree in Security Risk Management, awarded with Distinction, bolstering his credentials as a recognised expert in the field. Additionally, his tenure as Director of Gurkha Services saw one of the highest scores ever awarded for the Approved Contractor Scheme, a testament to his commitment to excellence.

Away from the corporate sphere, Noah resides in Guildford, UK, where he balances family life as a married father of five with a passion for art. A man of integrity, loyalty, and courage, his values manifest in both his professional pursuits and his role as a committed family man.

Noah Price’s vision for the future is clear: to continue elevating the standards of the security industry, fortifying the Academy's indispensable role within G4S, and leading the way in risk mitigation and innovative solutions.

Sonia Neffati

Sonia Neffati is Mastercard’s European Regional Security Officer based in Waterloo, Belgium. Her primary focus is strengthening Mastercard’s external cybersecurity cohorts, driving Central Bank resiliency engagements, and supporting Mastercard’s newly established Mastercard European Cyber Resilience Center (ECRC) in Waterloo.

Sue Williams QPM

As a Scotland Yard detective Sue was the most senior ranking Detective officer in charge of both the Kidnap and the Hostage Crisis Negotiation Units. She held those posts for seven years. At the highest-level Sue has been an active contributor to the UK Government's crisis response process in cases of the kidnap/abduction of UK citizens overseas. She has advised senior Government Ministers as part of the Cabinet Office Briefings (COBR). Her role was to devise and present on negotiation strategies, combined tactics and the suitable proportionate response that offered British hostages the best chance of release and enhanced the reputation of HMG.

Many of these cases were high profile and evolved in the media spotlight. Others were resolved covertly, all demanded careful innovative negotiation strategies, the use of intermediaries and good communication to all stakeholders including the perpetrators.

During her time as unit Chief as part of her responsibility Sue managed the UK National hostage negotiation training course, this commitment occurred every three months and trained 100 UK and overseas senior police and military officers a year.

Prior to that posting Sue also formed part of the Royalty Protection senior management team working from Buckingham Palace. Her role included security preparation for annual major royal events, crisis management for spontaneous incidents and detailed plan writing for the UK government response to serious crimes against members of the British Royal family & Household.

Sue qualified as an accredited Hostage Negotiator both in the UK with New Scotland Yard and in the USA with the FBI 30 years ago, since that time she has contributed to the successful resolution of hundreds of kidnaps, hostage situations on land and the high seas. More recently she has undertaken cyber negotiations as a tactic for combating extortion. Sue has deployed in every continent and has worked with enforcement authorities from around the world.

She is an accredited Senior Investigator (SIO) for kidnaps and was awarded the Queen's Police Medal; in the Queen’s Birthday Honors list, this was in recognition of her commitment to the fields of kidnap, negotiation and saving of life.
Due to her extensive expertise and unrivalled experience in all matters allied to negotiation, kidnap and extortion Sue is currently called upon to assist and advise many foreign governments, high profile families, organizations, and companies experiencing similar crimes in action or critical incidents involving hostage taking. Sue is an established specialist subject matter expert within the global security community and her advice is being highly sought after.

She is a visiting lecturer at the University of Harvard USA, where she works with the international humanitarian sector. Sue is also an Associate Fellow with Said Business School, Oxford University, where she shares hostage negotiation tools and tactics with the participants on the Oxford Programme on Negotiation (OPN). This unique approach to business negotiations has been well received and has created a lot of media interest. During these sessions at Oxford Sue uses her extensive hostage negotiation experience to teach influence without authority and how to formulate negotiation strategies suitable for successful business transactions.

Within International SOS, James is our lead security expert in Northern Europe. In this role, James provides strategic security advice, guidance and support to our clients throughout the region on all aspects of our Security service delivery.

Prior to this, James led our global Security Consulting Practice between 2019 and 2022, where he oversaw the security consulting support we provide our clients through our services, including consulting on Travel Risk Management, Crisis & Escalation Management, Security Incident Response, Business Continuity and Security Intelligence. He also led a team of 35 security experts who focus on expert consulting engagements with clients in their geographic regions of responsibility, as well as thought leadership, operational delivery and oversight and delivery of our solutions.

A certified Business Continuity expert through the Business Continuity Institute, James joined International SOS in May 2011 as Coordinating Security Manager for the Asia Pacific region where he supported clients during security incidents such as violent unrest in northern Papua New Guinea, Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines and flooding in Jakarta.

He subsequently moved, in September 2014, to the role of Regional Security Operations Manager in the Europe Regional Security Centre, with a focus on Europe, Central Asia and West & Maghreb Africa. In 2015, James moved to London where he helped to set up the 24/7 Security Centre. In this role, he oversaw a 24/7 team of security specialists and managed the operational advice and crisis management assistance provided to clients throughout the region. As part of this role, James also oversaw the business continuity of the 24/7 team, ensuring continuous service and support to our clients, developing, and refining processes to meet our clients’ needs.
In this role, James oversaw the company’s security support to client Crisis Management and Business Continuity Teams and the evacuations of their employees during escalations in locations including UK, Germany, France, Belgium, Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Cote d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso and Burundi.

Between July 2017 and December 2018, James was the lead security consulting resource in the UK & Ireland and latterly EMEA, working closely with clients at a strategic level to ensure appropriate support to their Risk Mitigation and Resilience teams.

Prior to joining International SOS, James was a police officer with Thames Valley Police, UK. Having spent time as a uniformed officer in Oxfordshire dealing with incidents ranging from large scale protests to murders, he then moved to a specialist detective unit investigating acquisitive crime throughout the southeast of England. While in this post he also organised and conducted surveillance, investigation, and disruption operations, gathering intelligence and targetting Organised Crime groups throughout the Thames Valley area and with other UK police services.
