Richard works in Arup’s Resilience, Security and Risk team. He specialises in assessing malicious threats to property and infrastructure in urban areas. Richard draws on 10 years of professional experience in political violence analysis where he helped insurers and corporates assess the likelihood and severity of terrorism risks facing their business. At Arup, Richard helps clients to identify and prioritise the terrorism, disorder and crime risks to their property to inform their decisions on how best to make their businesses more resilient against a malicious attack. In his this role, Richard has conducted in-depth research on the use of UAVs by threat agents, including advising clients on UAV-borne risks to their buildings and delivering two presentations on future UAV-borne risks at conferences held in 2017.
