Michael Gips, CPP

Michael Gips is the Chief Global Knowledge Officer at ASIS International, responsible for contributing to industry research, product development, thought leadership, and content creation. He was formerly in charge of Publishing, Education, Certification, Standards and Guidelines, and Information Services. Mike joined ASIS in 1994 as an editor for ASIS’s Security Management magazine, and he was promoted to senior editor in 1997. In 2007 he developed the CSO Roundtable (now CSO Center) as a new membership organization. Mike returned to the Publishing division at ASIS as vice president in 2013 and has taken on various leadership roles since. Mike has a B.A. in history and Spanish from Tufts University, and a juris doctorate from Harvard Law School. He has a certificates from both ASIS’s Wharton and IE programs, a certificate in executive protection from R.L. Oatman and Associates, and a certificate in homeland security studies from ASERO Worldwide and Tel Aviv University International.
