Gavin has been part of Mastercard Security team since 2012 after 15 years with the Irish Military, with service in the Middle East and the Balkans. After spending six years as the Regional Chief Security Officer for Europe and Eurasia - in 2019, he took the role of CSO for the International Markets, during this transitional phase, Gavin spearheaded a successful regional convergence of a team of Information and physical security teams to support the protection of company employees and the Mastercard assets and doubled regional efforts around cybersecurity. In July of this year, Gavin assumed a new role within Mastercard, as Vice President for Cybersecurity Innovation – Strategy and Outreach, with a focus on supporting the internal and external cybersecurity teams and external Corporate Security Partnerships and engagements.

Gavin has also built-up strong partnerships with international law enforcement agencies such as Europol and INTERPOL, he currently holds a strategic cyber resiliency advisory board position for the European Central Bank - and has previously held a strategic advisory position on E.U resiliency efforts with Digital Europe and contributed to the publication of “Digital Front Line” 15 actions to boost Europe’s Digital Resilience – he has also served as Co-Chair of the Irish & Belgian OSAC Chapter over the last decade and has served as Co-Chair of ASIS Risk to Resilience European Conference since 2022.

Gavin holds an Executive MBA from the Ulster University School of International Business, a certification in cybersecurity for business leaders from the University of Oxford Saïd Business School, and a diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership from the Chartered Management Institute, UK.
