Anne Marie Van Rooij, CPP

Anne Marie serves as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for the Zorginstituut Nederland (the National Health Care Institute). The NHCI is responsible for the two main statutory public health care insurance schemes. In 2016 the NHCI became one of the first government agencies to obtain an ISO-27001 certification. In her role, the main challenge is to align government regulations, with actual cyber security threats, business needs and new technologies. The convergence over diverse security disciplines is visible in the work Anne Marie has done. Besides information security she has been responsible for setting up a privacy practice, developing a business continuity program and recently a physical security program. Anne Marie holds a Bachelors in Business Administration (Nijenrode University) and a Master of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University with an honours in International Business Diplomacy, and industry leading certifications CPP, CISM, CISA and CIPP/E.
