Director, Head of Physical Security, Telenor ASA
Aleksandar Jakovljevic is Director, Head of Physical Security at Telenor ASA, which is a leading telecommunication company in Nordics with strong presence in Asia.
With over 20 years in security industry, Aleksandar started his professional carrier in an international organization (OSCE) being part of law enforcement reform projects in south-east Europe, after which he joined Telenor, holding various positions across the Group.
Starting from building integrated physical security solution in one of the operating companies, today Aleksandar is the physical security policy responsible for Telenor Group with a key role in strategy development and implementation, setting up governance framework, and strategic advisory to executives on the physical security matters.
During a recent crisis period for one of Telenor’s operations in Asia, he had responsibility for advisory on strategic and operational business decisions focusing on people security aspect, but as well leading the most critical operational activities.
During 2009/10, Aleksandar was on an 18 months’ assignment in India being responsible for building security function in Telenor’s largest and most challenging green field investment.
He has a passion for data centers, security designs, and access control. Through his career, he has led multiple projects resulting in designing and implementing security solutions across different legal entities, countries, and continents, always having legal requirements such as GDPR in mind.
Aleksandar holds a master’s degree in engineering, is based in Oslo, and enjoys cultural diversities at work and in personal life.
