Paul Cannock

Head of the Estates and Facilities Management Department, European Space Agency
Paul Cannock is the Head of the European Space Agency Estates and Facilities Management Department. He has a Master’s Degree in Defence Studies from King’s College London.

After serving in the Royal Air Force he joined the European Space Agency in 2002 as the site manager of the European Centre for Space Research and Technology in Noordwijk, Holland. As such he was responsible for all aspects of its physical security. In 2011 he assumed responsibility for the estates and facilities management of all ESA sites and centres across Europe working from ESA HQ in Paris. His responsibilities include oversight of the Agency-wide physical security contract and for ESA crisis management.

Paul Cannock has presented regularly to conferences and other fora in Europe and the USA on a wide range of subjects including leadership, environmental management and of course estates and facilities management. He is a firm believer that it is operational excellence that gets you a seat at decision making tables.
