Werner Cooreman, CPP, PSP

Leadership Track
Chief Security Officer, Solvay
Since 2016 Werner Cooreman CPP PSP is Chief Security Officer at Solvay, a market leading
international chemistry group. Through 22 years of security leadership experience, Werner has
transformed security management in Solvay to a fully converged function, managing the entire
spectrum of security risk.

Previously, he held international security leadership positions in other industries and security
competence areas. This journey has allowed him to gain insight into what the common
denominators for success are that makes security a business enabler.

He is a long-standing volunteer leader with ASIS International and is currently a member of its Global Board of Directors. Prior to this, he was respectively vice-chair and chair of the former Standards & Guidelines Commission, which was transformed to the current Professional Standards Board.

He holds a MA degree from the Belgian Royal Military Academy, as well as various certificates and
complementary degrees in multiple security areas.

Bruno Kalhoj

Leadership Track
Security Director, EY
Bruno Kalhoj is an international security leader with extensive experience in security strategy, resilience, risk assessment and crisis management for top-tier global private and public sector employers in a range of international environments, currently as security director at EY.

Since 2007, he has being headed high-performing security functions for employers in private and government sectors, initially for the dynamic clothing company, Bestseller, then a three-year period protecting Danish embassies in high-risk environments before leading global security for Maersk.

Since 2016 he played a lead role in transformation the security function at the European Central Bank, motivating an exceptional team to deliver best practice security risk and crisis management. Career highlights include pioneering innovation and cultural turnaround at ECB, professionalizing processes, systems and teams to drive major gains in strategy, performance, safety and risk mitigation. Currently Bruno is building a security and crisis management Center of Expertise across 25 countries in Africa and Europe at EY.

The breadth of his international background means he has worked in over 30 different countries for a wide range of organizations, coordinating with international stakeholders to deliver robust solutions in training, operations, audit, logistics, strategy and HR, before focusing on security leadership.

Many of his biggest achievements have come from an ability to create inclusive teams and successful relationships, networks, partnerships and environments that get the best out of people “There is nothing more satisfying than helping talented people to exceed their own expectations”.

Alexander Zippel, CPP

Senior Global Security & BCM Operations Manager, DHL Supply Chain
Alexander T. Zippel is a senior security and business continuity leader with a strong background in business management. He can effectively link those management skills with today’s business resilience disciplines to achieve valued results. Prior to joining Deutsche Post DHL Group, he was responsible for the international security management at a subsidiary of Total S.A. Group. His professional experience includes multiple years in the advisory sector, where he successfully advised MNC’s, SME’s and NGO’s in security, business continuity and strategic risk management.

Glenn Schoen

Leadership Track
Glenn Schoen (1963) is a crisis and security management advisor and CEO of [email protected] BV. An American with Dutch roots, he has over 35 years’ international experience including work for Ernst & Young, TranSecur and International Security Management in Europe and the USA. In the course of his career he has served over 350 consulting and 250 analysis service clients including corporations, international organizations, associations, family offices and select government agencies, a high number of those engagements involving crisis situations. Key specialties outside crises in general include terrorism, major event security, VIP security, and threat assessment. Secondary activities include volunteer work for global security professional platforms OSAC, ASIS, and UNICRI, and at the White House. He is honored to serve ASIS on its new European Board. He lectured for 10 years at Georgetown University’s Continuing Studies program, still supports two university level learning programs, and regularly provides commentary for the media (1000+ interviews). This includes nearly 30 years of guest appearances on CNN, the world’s largest media platform.

Matteo Grella

Head of Research & Artificial Intelligence, Crisis24
Matteo Grella is responsible for managing the global artificial intelligence team of Crisis24.

Matteo’s expertise has the distinction of combining vision, leadership, and technical background. His experience includes AI projects at private companies, universities, and government agencies. His research focuses on Natural Language Processing and related Machine Learning models. He is involved in Open-Source projects and publishes papers on these subjects.

Part of Crisis24 since the acquisition of EXOP in 2021, he oversees the application of cutting-edge technologies enabling analysts to track global events faster and have a better understanding of their impact, implications, and outcomes.

Peter J French, CPP, award the Member of the British Empire in 2010. He is the Chief Executive of SSR® Personnel, the leading recruitment consultancy in the field of security risk, permanent or interim hire, with a significant workforce presence in Europe and the Middle East. SSR® has been recognised globally as a best-in-class security recruitment consultancy in the S&FEA. He has been recognised as one of the sectors security visionaries in the IFSEC annual listing. SSR Middle East has also been awarded best security recruitment company in the region. Peter serves on the Chartered Security Professionals Registration Authority. He is a Fellow of the Security Institute, ASIS Certified Protection Professional, a Past Master, Principle Founding Member, and former Trustee of the Worshipful Company of Security Professionals. He is one of the co-founders of the Security Benevolent Fund that supports those in the security profession that require financial support in times of need. With a dedicated team of Volunteers, he organises the WCoSP Spring Dance that has to date raised over £658,000 for good causes. Peter was honoured as the 6th recipient of the Root & Branch award by the City Liveries Club for his ongoing work with the City of London Livery and Charities.
