27 Feb ASIS Europe 2026: A Shared Commitment to Sustainability

Sustainability is a collective effort. At ASIS Europe 2026, both the organisers and attendees play an important role in reducing environmental impact while delivering a meaningful, high-quality gathering.

What ASIS is doing as the organiser

ASIS Europe has embedded sustainability into the planning and delivery of the event through thoughtful choices on venue, logistics, catering, and materials.

The event is hosted at A Room with a Zoo, a location certified by Green Key for meeting high environmental standards in energy use, waste management, and sustainable operations. Its central location—next to the main train station and within walking distance of many hotels—helps reduce the need for car travel.

Event menus prioritise:

• Locally grown and seasonal ingredients
• Vegetarian and vegan options
• Reduced red meat selections

Working with local providers lowers transport emissions while supporting the regional economy.

We are using resources responsibly by providing:

• No conference bags to avoid unnecessary waste
• Recyclable badges and reduced use of hard-to-recycle materials
• Guidance for exhibitors on creating Responsible Exhibits

Finally, The ASIS Europe staff team is compensating the team travel emissions with a donation to the Siekopai project of the Belgian NGO Bos+ (see below).

ASIS Europe events support the sustainability ambitions of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, reinforcing responsible consumption and climate-conscious event practices.

What you can do as an attendee

Participants can significantly reduce their own footprint through simple travel and participation choices.

Choose low-impact ways to get around locally:

• Walk whenever possible—the venue sits in a compact, safe, walkable downtown.
• Cycle using Velo Antwerp, the city’s bike-sharing system and a great way to experience Antwerp like a local.
• Use public transport such as metro, trams, buses, and trains instead of taxis.

Travel more sustainably to the event:

• Consider travelling by train, one of the lowest-emission options. Antwerp has direct rail connections to Brussels Airport, Paris, London and Amsterdam.
• If flying is unavoidable, Economy class has a smaller CO₂ footprint per passenger than Business class.

Give Back to Nature:

To help balance your travel-related impact, attendees are invited to support BOS+, a non-profit dedicated to creating more and better forests in Belgium and worldwide. Donations made during registration will contribute to the BOS+ Siekopai project, which advances forest conservation, restoration, biodiversity, and community resilience.
