ASIS Europe 2022 Concludes after three

Intensive, Interactive Days in Prague

After three long years since the last in person event, during which the security community has been tested like never before, ASIS Europe 2022 landed in Prague on 22-24 May 2022.

The programme addressed the implications of the war in Ukraine on global security and business operations, plus a wide range of strategic business risk topics which drive boardroom agendas as well as security leaders’ priorities.

PhDr. Tomáš Sedláček, Ph.D., renowned author of Economics of Good and Evil, and governmental advisor provided the opening keynote – exploring the economic impacts of the war in Ukraine and how a borderless, digital economy will drive economic and societal change.

A stand-out moment was the panel discussion directly following the keynote where ASIS volunteer leaders from Ukraine had received special authorisation to travel to the event and share their personal and professional experience of the war with attendees in Prague.

The programme format was completely redesigned to focus on discussion, debate and collaborative learning which got the best out of both expert speakers and the experienced practitioners in attendance.

Eduard Emde, CPP, ASIS Europe Conference Chair remarked, “This has been a wonderful few days together. From the moment people arrived on Sunday, the buzz was immediate – the joy in reconnecting in person after three years behind our screens was obvious. Our programme also delivered an immersive, interactive experience which added to the atmosphere and really stimulated exchange”.

Critical security risk topics such as ransomware attacks, crisis response, duty of care and societal unrest were lined up alongside forward-thinking sessions that addressed the importance of working with internal partners on sustainability, compliance, supporting DE&I, the next generation, and HR related challenges.

The onsite gathering in Prague was preceded by two online sessions. The hybrid format brought together over 860 participants from more than 60 countries. The core attendance were established and aspiring security leaders from global corporations such as Amazon, SAP, BMW, ArcelorMittal, Unilever, Microsoft, Google, Nike, Disney and ING to name just a few.

Over 11 hours of dedicated networking time was built into the programme including the Welcome Party powered by Nedap and the Security Leaders Networking Dinner at the beautiful Martinic Palace which was sponsored by Johnson Controls.

“See you next year” was the most used term at the end of an inspiring meeting and ASIS Europe 2023 was announced onsite for Rotterdam 21-23 March.

Announcements will follow on https://asiseurope.org/.

Our new programme format will be focused on discussion, debate, collaborative learning, and lots of valuable networking time!

ASIS EU22 Inforgraphics are you

After a special opening session on Ukraine, one track will be dedicated to the evolving risk landscape around issues such as geopolitical tension, societal unrest, technology and the rise of AI and new considerations on travel risk.

In parallel, we will examine how security supports business strategy, diving into what the post COP26 economy means for security teams, internal collaboration with Risk Management, Compliance and HR, how to function effectively in remote work environments, engaging the next generation of security talent, and how ESRM is being implemented.

Roundable ASIS EU19 -1

Plus, the Innovation track will cover the latest research and developments on security tools, technology and service solutions.

The Prague event will be supplemented by two online events in April and early May, providing maximum accessibility to ASIS’ exceptional educational content.

Both Premium All Access passes and Free to Attend options will be available – more information on options and fees here. To make sure you’re on the mailing list, sign up here.
